HDhomerun for TV in Home Computer network

This is a great option for getting your TV signal to your various devices in your home.

If you have high speed internet in your home you can take advantage of this at a reasonable cost.

All you need is the HDhomerun device from Silicon Dust.
Here’s a link to it on Amazon: https://amzn.com/B00GY0UB6I
The company link is here: https://www.silicondust.com/

If you have over the air TV or cable TV it will work.
However, you need to choose the correct HDhomerun device (one works with cable and the other works with over the air TV).

If you want to keep cable tv get this device: https://www.silicondust.com/products/hdhomerun/prime/

For the over the air TV use this one: https://www.silicondust.com/products/hdhomerun/hdhomerun/

hdHomeRun DeviceTo watch TV on your tablet or smartphone you’ll need to download an app.
Just search for the HDhomerun app and buy it. It’s only $1.99.
Another option is the InstaTV pro. This one costs $10 and I’ve not tried it.

You can also use a smart TV. But you need one that has an ethernet port.
AND, some smart TVs that have ethernet ports still won’t work.
I know that vizio smart TVs DO NOT work.
But I have a samsung smart TV with an ethernet port that works great.
Both TVs are available at Walmart.

High def channels need a strong wifi (wireless) signal in your home or a wired connection (the ethernet port).
For the wired connection you need cat-5 cable going from your router to your TV.

I hope this is helpful. It’s a great solution for watching TV in your home on multiple devices. And you don’t need coax cable running to all your TVs!
